Getting Creative

ALT was recently contacted to shoot with Ms. W, who has been diagnosed with ALS. Long story short, her mobility has been severely impacted but she still wanted the experience of a boudoir shoot.

We, of course, agreed to help!

We arrived at Ms. W’s home, where she had gathered a few friends to assist her with posing. It quickly became clear that we were not going to be able to do the various locations and poses that are so typical in a boudoir shoot. But boudoir isn’t about posing in all the right ways. It’s about revealing the beauty of the subject.

ALT always comes prepared to a shoot. In this instance, Ms. W mostly sayed in one position in her bed, so we used lights to create the different shots. We used a main light to simulate the sunlight we were missing (it was a cloudy day) and had a few accent lights to create some mood. We even tossed away conventional ideas of hiding lights and put them right in frame to create an interesting image.

In the end, Ms. W was very happy with the results, taking home a quality album and the complete digital collection of her images. And it ended up being a fun time! Her friends were with her and we had a fantastic playlist going (that she designed, of course). We spent most of the day together and I edited her images for review right there at her kitchen table.

When we say that boudoir is for everyone, we mean it! We stand by our mission to empower everyone to see the beauty they have. While this extends across the spectrums of gender and sexuality, it also extends to different bodies with different needs. Boudoir is an empowering experience and you, too, deserve it! Drop us a line today and join us for a unique experience.
